Abigail Laurel

Yoga Student & Instructor

About Me

I was first introduced to Yoga on the summer of 2012, and have been desperately in love with asana practice ever since. Like some who first step into the vast world of Yoga, I cautiously and awkwardly walked into my first few classes not knowing what to expect from styles such as Vinyasa, Hatha, Hot, and Ashtanga. Let’s just say the image of me earnestly falling on my backside at least once a class would be apt of how my initial years of practice looked like.

Prior to those awkward early years in yoga, I had no background in dedicated movement. Sports like swimming, badminton, martial arts held no interest for me then - I’ve always been the quiet girl in the corner with her nose to a book, busy daydreaming, because the world first opened up to me this way. Years after, alongside the slow and steady growth I was getting from asana practice, I had a glimpse of the universe within me. With my newfound flexibility I learned to breathe through my tensions and anxieties - the very shadows that have crept up in my life years back. I have uncovered incredible vulnerability and softness arising from my strength. And from my endurance, I see how my spirit can withstand the test of time. These are the very gifts I have received from all of Yoga. They are the very gifts I wish to share with you now.

Together, let us work slowly and surely towards the fruits of Yoga.
